Sedgwick College Transition 2023

Wow! What a week we have had this week in Sedgwick College. Our learners have fully immersed themselves in our sample curriculum this week, our theme has been ‘Birds’. We are so lucky to have not only our stunning building to work in but this week we have spent time outside in our beautiful grounds.

We share our days with an abundance of wildlife. Foxes, squirrels, rabbits and an array of birds. This has inspired our theme for the week which we have all fully embraced. They have experienced a wide range of activities that have included painting bird houses, we have made pizzas and pine cone feeders for our bird friends which have been devoured daily by our feathered friends.

We have used the computers in our new ICT suite where the learners designed new menus for our tea rooms and some wrote sentences telling us all about the world of birds. Our tea rooms welcomed two visitors who were served for the very first time by our new learners who wore our Sedgwick college aprons and delivered a professional and smooth service. Our visitors were blown away by how well they all worked together and communicated with each other to take the order and get it ready.

This was a glimpse of wonderful things to come for Sedgwick College. As a team we have been amazed, wowed, and stunned by the engagement, effort and commitment to this transition week by each and every learner! Thank you so much for joining us and we cannot wait till September which is when the magic will start to happen!
